STATEMENT: State Legislators Demand Action to Save Children’s Lives from Gun Violence in Aftermath of Annunciation Catholic Church
“Keeping our children safe is a non-negotiable priority – for parents, for state legislators, and for every American. Today’s horrific shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis is another heartbreaking reminder of an all too frequent occurrence in our country. This is not normal, and we all have a moral obligation to ensure tragedies like this do not keep happening. While we grieve with the people of Minnesota, we also call on all of our colleagues to take urgent action to prevent even more children from being shot and killed. Children should never have to fear for their lives in places of worship, in schools, or anywhere else. We owe every American child more than our words – we owe them action.”
